It is important to make sure that the Reese Friction Sway Control # 83660 is level when installed. If the sway control is unlevel by a significant amount the slide bar will bind in the main body when turning.
The cause for the Reese # 83660 to be unlevel is that the ball mount used is not the correct drop causing the tongue of the trailer to point up or down.

Do you already have a fully functioning 7-Way connector at the rear of your 1967 Ford F-100? If not then you will need to install the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 which includes all of the wiring and connectors needed to do so.
